Ionglass R is a highly resistant self-curing glass ionomer, aesthetic, with viscosity suitable for restorative work. It has excellent biocompatibility and low risk of postoperative sensitivity. It has a great marginal sealing in the cavity and prevents the formation of cracks. It can be used in the ATR (atraumatic restorative treatment) technique, in all classes of restorations of deciduous teeth, provisional restorations of permanent teeth (Class I, II, III and IV), a base for final restoration, non-carious lesions and provisional cementation of prosthetic parts. Ionglass R has good adhesion to enamel and dentin, rendering the creation of retention unnecessary.

The product is indicated for: It can be used in the ATR (atraumatic restorative treatment) technique, in all classes of restorations of deciduous teeth, provisional restorations of permanent teeth (Class I, II, III and IV), a base for final restoration, non-carious lesions and provisional cementation of prosthetic parts.
The ideal time for mixture is 1 minute. The temperature instructions for the product should be followed, which are 18°C to 32°C , since temperatures above reduce the working time and temperatures below increase the established time.
Setting time is 3 to 4 minutes.
Contact with eugenol should be avoided because it may decrease the adhesive strength of Ionglass R.
No, the direct application of the product onto the dental pulp may cause irritation or irreversible damage (death of pulp). We recommend that you perform the liner with calcium hydroxide PA or Hidrox -cal Maquira.
Remove the carious tissue, without the need to make retentions. In very deep cavities only, it is recommended to use a calcium-hydroxide based liner.
Prepare the material as follows: 1 flat dosing spoon of powder to 1 drop of liquid. Using the mixing pad or a glass plate, place one measure of powder and one drop of liquid, and add the powder to the liquid gradually using the plastic spatula for ionomers, Ionomix® (Maquira). Take care to ensure that the mixing time does not exceed 01 minute. The temperature range for the times specified is 18ºC to 32ºC. Temperatures above this range decrease the working time and temperatures below this time increase the times specified.
Apply the material inside the cavity straight away. During the setting phase avoid contact with saliva and water, as the material is vulnerable to dissolving on its outer surface. To protect the restoration from moisture, coat with a layer of varnish.
The setting time of the material is 3 to 4 minutes. After this time the excess can be removed with appropriate tools.
For a better finish and polish, wait until 24 hours after the insertion of the material.
After use rinse the materials used with cold water before the material residues solidify.
